Original and Commissioned Work

A commissioned painting is a truly unique piece of art that is to be treasured for a very long time.

I use heavy body acrylic paints to produce my portraits and landscapes. Finished paintings are varnished to give a subtle sheen and to protect their surfaces. Acrylics are extremely durable and the colours do not fade over time. Your painting will last a lifetime.

A photograph is all that I require – the higher quality, the better. For a portrait painting, it is helpful to receive a few additional photos of the subject, so that I can capture their true likeness.

The cost of a painting commission varies depending on size, surface, number of people / animals, and postage and packaging if applicable. On agreement of the commissioned work, I charge a deposit of 20% of the total cost. I will always deliver your commission to the agreed deadline.

Portrait Artist of the Week

Portrait Artist of the Week is a companion programme to Portrait Artist of the Year shown on Sky Arts. Each week a celebrity sitter is painted via video link in their own home and thousands of people paint along and post their portraits on Instagram with the hashtag #mypaotw. I discovered the programme halfway through the last series towards the end of 2020 and found it highly informative and enjoyable to participate in. My painting of Floella Benjamin was featured in one of the episodes as part of the opening montage and my painting of Russell Tovey was picked out by Sky TV’s Instagram account as one of their favourites.
